How I Turn My Everyday Life Into Something I Adore

Good morning, beautiful.

I am sitting in my living room looking at the soft twinkle of the clear white Christmas lights that I never took down. Yes, it is February, and yes, the rest of the decorations are gone, but I chose to keep the lights. They are a small thing that make my everyday life feel more magical, more special, and more connected to the sparkle that feels true to who I am. This early in the morning, with my bottle of water beside me honoring a commitment I made to take better care of myself, I am reminded that turning my everyday life into something I adore is not about waiting for something grand. It is about honoring the small commitments I make to myself and letting every little thing matter.

There are moments when I can be hard on myself. There are times when my internal dialogue tries to convince me that I should already be somewhere else or have achieved something more. Because I know that voice still exists, I intentionally make a big deal out of the small things. I let coffee be an experience instead of just caffeine. I let turning on the lights be a moment of sparkle instead of simple brightness. I remind myself that I am already that girl, already becoming the woman I desire to be, one choice and one movement at a time. Adoring my everyday life is how I quiet the unnecessary criticism and celebrate who I am right now.

Part of how I do this is by giving myself space. Space to show up consistently and space to take it down a notch when I need to rest. Space to splurge on something small that makes me smile without talking myself out of it. I do not wait for permission to enjoy what I enjoy. I am an Aldi girl, and every Wednesday when the new finds appear, I feel a tiny rush of joy. There is something about walking in for groceries and discovering a small treasure that turns an ordinary errand into a moment of delight. My current favorite is an iridescent candle jar that shifts between purple, green, gold, and blue depending on the light. It has a soft cream tassel and once the candle is finished, it becomes a jar I get to keep in my bathroom. Every time I see it, I smile. That is what adoring my everyday life looks like.

Waiting for one big magical moment does not teach you how to love your daily life. Choosing to notice and celebrate what is already here does. The twinkle lights. The water bottle. The candle. The quiet morning. The decision not to talk myself out of joy. When you slow down enough to honor the small commitments you make to yourself, everything begins to feel bigger. Every day becomes worthy of adoration. And that is how I turn my everyday life into something I truly love living.

Love always,
Your most magical self

  1. This is a reminder to us all; Life is supposed to feel good and we get to choose how good we make it feel.

    1. Today I revisit this post because I woke up really proud of myself. I made my very first Apple Pie 🥧 and it turned out so freaking good. It was a commitment I made to myself this year that I would bake something yummy each month… And while there is only a couple days left in the month, I did it… And it was amazing… So today I celebrate 🥂🎉 me.
