Permission to Believe This Life Can Be Exactly What You Want

Good morning, beautiful,

I want to talk to you about beauty. Not the kind that gets posted or announced. The kind that lives quietly in how you choose to see your life.

For a long time, my past was loud. Louder than my present. Louder than my hopes. Louder than what was actually happening right in front of me. Old disappointments, hard seasons, moments that shaped me in ways I did not ask for. They had a way of speaking first and sometimes speaking the longest.

But I learned something over time.

Just because the past is loud does not mean it gets to lead.

I realized that if I softened the voice of what had been and allowed my present and future to speak louder, something shifted. I could finally see what was already here. I could notice what was working. I could let myself believe that life did not have to be defined by what hurt before.

Beauty started showing up in smaller ways.

I stopped waiting for big milestones to prove that life was good. I started choosing what I actually wanted in small moments. The coffee I really like instead of the one that is just convenient. Asking for what I want without shrinking it to make it easier for someone else to accept. Giving myself time to create and make choices that support me, even when they seem ordinary.

Those ordinary choices add up.

There was a season recently when my car was not reliable, and for the first time in a long time, I could not just jump in and go wherever I wanted. I was frustrated. I caught myself spiraling into what if thinking and annoyance and impatience. But when I slowed down, I realized something else was happening.

I was being chauffeured around by my husband. Everywhere. For weeks. We talked. We laughed. We spent time together in a way that daily routines often steal from us. What felt like an inconvenience became a gift once I changed the story I was telling myself about it.

That is how beauty works.

It does not always announce itself. Sometimes it waits for you to notice.

I felt something similar when Taco Tuesday came to an end. We had done it all year, and I was genuinely sad to let it go. It felt like closing a chapter I loved. But that ending opened the door to something new. Football Sundays. Sports bars. Time with my girlfriends. Laughter. Energy. A different rhythm.

Life was not taking something from me. It was making room.

This is what I know now. You do not create a beautiful life through one big moment. You create it through how you frame the small ones. Through how you speak to yourself. Through what you allow yourself to enjoy. Through the meaning you give to everyday experiences.

You do not buy a house every day. But you can enjoy your morning coffee every day. You do not get a new car every day. But you can honor your journal time or your evening routine every day. Those moments become your life.

You are allowed to believe that life can be beautiful even if it has been hard. Even if your past still whispers sometimes. Even if everything is not perfect.

Beauty is something you choose to see, something you allow to matter, something you build gently over time.

This year, let yourself believe in goodness again. Let yourself notice what is working. Let yourself enjoy the life you are actively creating, one small choice at a time.

That belief changes everything.

Love always,
your most magical self ✨
