November is usually the month when I invite my Wealthy Women Conversations community to pick their word of the year. Every November, we spend weeks preparing for the next year together, choosing words that we believe will guide, anchor, and transform us.

But this time, I did something different.

Instead of waiting until November, I chose my 2026 word of the year back in August. Yes, months ahead of schedule. And let me tell you — it has already changed everything.

Why I Picked My Word Early

This year’s word, Happy, has carried me beautifully. It has shaped the way I notice joy, the way I create moments of ease, and the way I allow softness to lead me. Happy has been my anchor, and it has been good to me.

But I realized something: when I wait until November to pick my new word, I spend the first two or three months of the new year still “getting into it.” It’s like I’m warming up when I could already be moving in rhythm.

So this time, I decided: I don’t want to step into 2026 still preparing. I want to step into 2026 already glowing.

That’s why in August, I declared my new word for 2026: Magic.

Choosing early isn’t just about being ahead on a calendar. It’s about being immersed. By giving myself months to sit with Magic before 2026 arrives, I’m not just thinking about it — I’m living it.

Or a bride who walks into her marriage with her family’s support, a home, and a foundation already in place. She’s not scrambling to build while she’s trying to celebrate. She’s glowing because she’s prepared.

That’s the difference between surviving and thriving. Between hustling and flowing. Between scrambling to catch up and walking in ready.
